GRAMMAR: 150 VERBS (Teil 5)

Hello everyone and welcome to our video series on learn German for beginners.
This video is the fifth part of the 10-day-Marathon - 150 Verben in 10 Tagen. - 150 Verbs in
10 days!

Teil 5 - In this video we will be learning the next 15 verbs. As you already know, you will see
the meaning in English with every verb and the conjugation in present tense and past tense.
As A1 learners, you don’t need the Präteritum - Form but you can learn these later. With
every verb, you will also see an example. So, let’s begin.

61. gefallen - to like/please - es gefällt (mir) , es hat (mir) gefallen, es gefiel (mir) -
This is a dative verb, and we have MIR in brackets, because this is one verb, where
you would hardly say: es gefällt oder es hat gefallen, ohne ein Subjekt. - WIthout A
subject - Here’s the example:
Dein neues Haus gefällt mir. -

62. gehören - to belong to sb. - es gehörte (mir), es hat (mir) gehört, es gehörte (mir)
- In this case also, we always need a subject, Let’s look at the example: Das Auto
gehört meinem Bruder.

63. gewinnen - to win - ich gewinne, ich habe gewonnen, ich gewann
Wir haben das Spiel gewonnen.

64. glauben - to believe/think - ich glaube, ich habe geglaubt, ich glaubte
And here’s the example: Ich glaube dir nicht. - As you can see, the object here is in
dative - dir - this is because glauben is also a dative verb

65. grillen - to grill - ich grille, ich habe gegrillt, ich grillte
Wir können das Fleisch grillen oder braten.

66. gratulieren - to congratulate - ich gratuliere, ich habe gratuliert, ich gratulierte
Ich gratuliere dir zum Geburtstag. This one again is a dative verb, if you want to

67. haben - to have - ich habe, ich habe gehabt, ich hatte
Ich habe 2 Geschwister.

68. halten - to hold/stop/halt - ich halte, ich habe gehalten, ich hielt
Der Bus hält am Hauptbahnhof.

69. helfen - to help - ich helfe, ich habe geholfen, ich half
Ich helfe meiner Mutter immer beim Kochen.- Here again the object is in dative -
meiner Mutter, this is because, helfen is dative verb

70. heiraten - to marry - ich heirate, ich habe geheiratet, ich heiratete
Mia und John heiraten bald.

71. hören - to hear/listen - ich höre, ich habe gehört, ich hörte
Hier ist das Beispiel: Ich höre in meinem Auto immer Radio.

72. heißen - to be named/called - ich heiße, ich habe geheißen, ich hieß
Meine Schwester heißt Tina.

73. holen -to get - ich hole, ich habe geholt, ich holte
Ich muss schnell meinen Regenschirm holen, denn es regnet.

74. sich informieren - to obtain information - ich informiere mich, ich habe mich
informiert, ich informierte mich - As a beginner, you just need to know these verbs
that exist and have a reflexive Präposition sich - Here is the example:
Ich muss mich über die Kosten informieren.

75. sich interessieren - to be interested in sth. - ich interessiere mich, ich habe mich
interessiert, ich interessierte mich
Ich interessiere mich für Musik.

So we are done with another 15 verbs. WIth this we complete 75 verbs, we are just half way
through, another 5 days, and another 75 verbs..looking forward to seeing you more. If you
