Facts about Globalization:

1. Fashion Industry:
- one jeans uses a lot of Carbon Dioxid
- Focus on profit, not on the human rights (not enough money for the work)
- Unsafe working conditions: bad construction of factories, low safety standards,
unpaid & overworked workers
-> solutions:
- buy second hand
- Buy clothes by factories with quality and regional production

2. Waste:
- 99% of products became fresh in less than 6 months
- Plastic waste; over 8 billion tonnes of plastic waste since the nineteens
- Reyciling: only 9% is recycled, only pure plastic can be recycled
- E -waste: goes to africa; dangerous for workers (hand sort, extracting valuable
materials)
‣ most electronics contain some form of toxic materials
‣ serious environmental risks to our soil, water, air, and wildlife.
‣ To much e-waste in the last years (every year a new phone, macbook or tv)

Stereotypes
Social psychology defines a stereotype as a generalized belief about a particular
category of people. It is an expectation that people might have about every person of
a particular group.
Examples:
- All Arabs and Muslims are terrorists.
- All blonds are unintelligent.
- All children don't enjoy healthy food.
Stereotypes are not real and just prejudice. People with blonde hair can also be
clever., the hair color isn’t decisive for the character or something like that.

Racism
the belief that some races are better than others, or the unfair treatment of someone
because of his or her race. People with dark skin will discriminate by other people,
they called them ,,murderer“ or be hated by them for no reason other their skin.
Everyday racism and physical assaults?
- strange annotations
- Hatefully words
- Bullying, cyberbullying
Are people born racist?
- Nobody is born racist, it depends how people are raised and in what locality they
are raised
- It can also be the bad influence of others
- Its not fair to disrespect other people just because they have a other skin color

Climate Change
- The main human cause is probably the burning of fossil fuels, like coal, oil, and
gas, for electricity, heat, and transportation.
- When we use cars, planes, and other forms of transport we burn fossil fuels and
emit greenhouse gases into the atmosphere
- The exhaust fumes from cars produce CO2
- When we use electricity at home, we are most likely burning fossil fuels and so
producing greenhouse gases which cause global warming.

Environmental pollution
Plastic in the ocean:
- a lot of trash in the ocean
- More than 80% comes from land, the other 20% from ships
- Big plastic islands in the ocean (animals for example turtles die)

Problems of plastic:
- non - biodegradable
- breaks down into small pieces (->microplastic)
- Animals eat the plastic (for example turtles)
- Plastic are believed to kills at least 600 different spices
- Humans are consuming plastic to much

What to do?
- think twice before using single-use plastic products
- Help cleaning up beaches
- Use reusable bottles and bags and food in non plastic packaging
- Recycle q
