Segelflugmodell zum Motorsegler und ouih um-
gekehrt kqnn in kurzer Zeit erftlgen.
Der Einsotz der Segelflugmodelle FILOU, JOLLY
und DANDY ols MoLrses"t"r i;i J;"";;;fehtens-
wert, wenn ein entsprechender Hong fehlt und
wenn mcrn keinen Hochstort durchftihren will. Der
Motorqufsotz ist fiir den gesteuerten und unge-
steuerlen Flug verwendbor.
Wird der FILOU ohne Fernsteuerung geflogen, ist
der Gl0hkerzenmotor COX pEE WfE mit 0i3 ccm
Hubrqum (Best.-Nr. 1435) gur g""is;;i. Auch frtr
dos Segelflugmodell JOLLY rJicht-dieser Motor
ous.
Wird der FILOU mit Fernsteuerung eingesetzt,
empfiehlt es sich, den Glijhkerzenmotoi CO*
BABE BEE oder COX Q2049 mir 0,8 ccm Hubroum
(Best.-Nr. 1436 bzw.'1442) zu verwenden.
Diese Motoren sind ebenfqlls fijr dos Freiflug- oder
RC-Flugmodell DANDY geeignet.
DerZuiqmmenbsu
A. Bei Verwendung des Gliihkerzenmotors
COX PEE WEE mir 033 ccm Hubrqum
Zuerst werden die oufgedruckten Bolso- und Sperr-
holzteile ousgesdgt. Der Pylon (1) besfeht ous zwei
Teilen, die miieinonder verleiml werden.
ln den Pylon wird qn der gekennzeichneten Stelle
vorsichtig ein Drohtstift so eingeschlogen, do8 er
quf beiden Seiten gleich long iiberstehl; jer Kopf
ist obzuzwicken.
Nun,wird die Aufloge_pflotte (2) ouf den pylon ('l)
von hinten durch den Schlitz so oufgeschobl,n, dqd
sie dem Trogfliigelprofil entsprechend gebogen ist.
Der eingeschlogene Drqhtstift leistet f,ierbJi gute
Hilfe.
Die Auflogeplotte und der pylon sind sorgfciltig
miteinqnder zu verleimen. Vor dem Verieimei
mUssen die beiden Teile ousgerichtet werden und
von vorn gesehen im rechten Winkel zueinonder
stehen.
Nun wird die Motorbefestigungsplotte (3) qusge_
gcigt, ouf Teil (1) oufgeschobln ind verle#r. AJch
hier ist quf rechtwinkligen Sitz und besonders gute
Leimung.zu ochten. Anschlie8ena *"nd"n Ji"i"i-
den Verkleidungen. (4J noch befestitt und strom_
linienformig verschliffen. Nun sind ioch die Auf_
frilterungen (5) und (6) unren on Teil (2f iu-ieimen.
Donn ist der Motoroufsotz on den Tro-qhUqel onzu_
possen, d. h., die Aufftifierungen miiien-entspre_
chend der V-Form des Trogflrigels verschliffen
werden.
Der Aufsolz wird zuletzt noch mif GLATTFIX,
!9st.-Nr. 207, und SPANNFTX-IMMUN, Besr.-
Nr. 1408/1-13, gestrichen (beides nicht im Bqusotz
entholten). Die forbigen Anstriche richten sich nqch
derModellockierung. Zwischen den Anstrichen muB
ieweils mit feinstem Schleifpopier, Best.-Nr. 700/2,
verschliffen werden.
Noch Fertigstellung des Aufsotzes wird der Motor
mif 4 Schrouben on Teil (3) befestigt.
B. Bei Verwendung des Gliihkerzenmolors
COX BABE BEE bzw. COX QZ (X9 mit
08 ccm Hubroum
Der Zusommenbou des Moiorqufsqtzes erfolgt in
der gleichen Weise wie vorher beschrieben.
Es ist nur noch zuscjtzlich dos Zwischenstijck (Z) ous
'Boh-
1,5 mm Aluminium ouszuscigen und mit den
rungen zu versehen.
Bevor iedoch dos ZwischenstUck on Teil (3) mit
Senkholzschrouben verschroubt wird, sind noch 4
Kerben in Teil (3)zu feilen, dqmit die Befestigungs-
muttern des Mofors PIotz hoben,
Der Motor wird dqnn mit 4 Schrouben und Muttern
ouf dem Zwischenstiick befestigt. Die Schrouben
sind etwos zu kiirzen. FUr den Motor kommt die
Luflschroube 15,/'10 cm, Best.-Nr. 1316/15/10 zur
Verwendung, sie ist ouf beiden Seiten um ie
6 mm zu kiirzen.
Ein Auswuchten ist empfehlenswert.
DieMontoge
geschieht bei beiden Motortrcigern in der qleichen
Art. Der Motoroufsotz wird ouf die Fli;gelr;iile ge_
setzt und mit 4 Gummiringen so befes-tiqt, wie es
die Abbildung umseitig
Motorbefestigung ouf dem=Jigt. Die Abb.'zeigt die
Modell FILOU. FIr die
Modelle JOLLY und DANDY gilt die onologe Be-
festigung. Bei DANDT dem {rO8ren der dLi ge-
somten Modelle, konn die Befestigung mit Gummi_
ringen ouch noch der Abbildung ouf dem Verpok-
kungskorton DANDY gemocht -werden.
Vercinderungen on der Motorzugrichtung sind
durch Unierlegen von dijnnen Schei6en om iioto"
flonsch vorzunehmen. lst der Flug gedrUikt, donn
unten, isf er [iberzogen, donn oben u-nterlege'n.
Eventuelle Lostigkeitsrinderungen durch den Mo_
torqufsotz sind durch Zugobe bzw. Entnohme von
Blei ouszugleichen.

be eosily converted to powered gliders. The con-
version from glider to powered version ond vice
verso tokes very little time.
Using the three soilplone models FILOU, JOLLy
qnd DANDY in iheir powered version is recom-
mended in oll those coses when either o suitoble
slope is not ovoiloble or one does not wish to
lounch the model by tow line. The pylon engine
mount ls, of course, equolly well suited for free
flight or rodio controlled flying.
lf FILOU to be flown F./F foshion, the glo engine
is
COX PEE WEE of .020 cu. in. displocement (injent
No. 1435) is o good choice. The some engine is
perfectly odequote for powering the JOLLY soil-
plone model.
Use of either o COX BABE BEE glo engine or o
COX QZ 049 of .049 cu.in. displ. (indenr Nos. .l436
ond 1 442resp.) is recommended.
These engines ore olso suitoble for the F,zF ond R/C
versions of DANDY.
Assembly

Cut out the printed bolso ond plywood ports first.
The pylon (1) consists of two ports, which ore
.together. Push q wire' pin through the
cemented
pylon ot the indicoted position, moking suft thot
the protuding ends ore of equol lengthiui off the
heod.
Now slip the mounting plote (2) with the slot from
the reor onfo the pylon (l), ,oking sure tirot the
curvoture of (2) motches the contoui of the oirfoil.
The wire pin will come in hondy here.
Mounting plole ond pylon must be thoroughly
cemenied. Prior to cementing lhe lwo ports must
be corefully oligned. ln the front view thev should
be perpendiculor lo eocholher.
Next cut out the engine bulkheod (3), slip it onto
po* (1) ond cement. Here, too, lhe ports'must be
properly squored ond corefully cemented. Then
o.ttoch the two foirings (4) ond iond to streomline
shope. The fillets (5) ond (6) ore now cemented to
po* (2). The pylon engine mount is now moied io
the wing, i. e. the fillets must be sonded to mqtch
the dihedrol of the wing.

follow thot of the model. Corefully sond down with
very fine sondpoper, indent No'. 700/2, between
intermediole coqts.
When reody the motor is ottoched to pori (3) wiih
4 screws.
B. Pylon engine rnount
for COX BABE BEE ond
COX QZ (X9 glo engine ol .M9 cu.in. displ.
Assembly of the molor mount for this engine is
essentiolly the some os for the PEE WEE engine
mount.
However o spocer (7) must be cut out from 1/r0,.
sheet oluminium ond drilled to tqke ihe engine
mounting bohs.
Prior to ottoching the spocer to port (3) with
counfersunk wood screws, four recesses musi be
filed into. pori (3) to provide omple spoce for the
motor bolts.
The motor is then mounted on the spocer bv 4 bolts
ond nuts. The bolts must be shortenei o bit
A6x4" propeller, indent No.'1316/15./'10 is recom-
mendet for this motor. Both blodes of the
propeller should be cut off tla," ol the iips. Corefully
bolonce the propeller ofier this operoiion.
Attoching the engine mounts
Some method is used in both coses.
The pylon engine .mou-nt is ploced on the wing
cenler ond qttoched with 4 elostics, os shown in thi
illustrotion on the reverse poge. The illustrotion
thory.i[e. proper.m,ethod of mounting the engine
to o FILOU model. Some method of instollotion is
used for JOLLY ond DANDY. For DANDy, the
lorgest 9f the three models, the mount moy'olso
be ottoched with elostics in the monner shown on
the DANDY box lid.

wqshers under the mounting flonges of the motor.
