Das taubenblau gestrichene Holzhaus - in
einer typischen Neubausiedlung am Rande
einer Kleinstadt im Münsterland gelegen -
zeichnet sich vor allem durch seine klare und
einfache Formensprache aus und hebt sich
gerade dadurch von der gestalterischen
Heterogenität seiner Umgebung ab. Das Haus
ist in Holzständerbauweise auf umlaufenden
Streifenfundamenten aus Beton errichtet. Die
Wahl möglichst einfacher Konstruktionen soll-
te dem Bauherrn ein großes Maß an Möglich-
keiten zu Eigenleistungen bieten. Der Eingang
wendet sich ganz selbstverständlich dem Be-
sucher zu und bietet mit seinem verglasten
Vorbau mehr als einen herkömmlichen Wind-
fang mit Garderobe und Gäste-WC. Hölzerne
Klappbänke laden zum Verweilen ein.
This timber house, painted blue-grey, is
situated on the edge of a new housing estate
on the outskirts of a small town in the Mün-
sterland area. Through its clear and simple
use of forms it stands out from the heteroge-
neaus designs surrounding it. The faunda-
tions are continuous concrete strip footing,
and the hause itself is a timber post-and-
beam construction. The choice of simple
construction methods was intended to cater
for the client's wish to complete same of the
work himself. The entrance area welcomes
the visitor, and with its glazed canopy it ofters
much more than the usual draught lobby with
cloakroom and toilet. Folding wooden seats
in the entrance way encourage the use of this
area for a quiet sit down or achat.
