2.Installatie voorschrift

$WIMWV,aaa,b,c.c,d,e*hh<CR><LF>
Waarin:
aaa = Windrichting (0-359°).
b = T of R (True of Relative).
c.c = Windsnelheid.
d = M,K of N (M/s, Km/h of kNopen).
e = A (valid information).
hh = Checksum.

4.Bediening

aanwezig is.
5. Afregelvoorschriften
5.1 Afregeling 1mA uitgang.

2. Installation instructions
The display unit should be placed so as to be clearly visible to the rudder operator.
There must be sufficient place left over for laying the cabling.
An installation diagram may be found at the back of this manual.
A maximum of 3 display units can be connected to one junction box.
The junction box should be placed so as to be easily accessible for service purposes and
cabling. The junction box should be provided with 24 volts supply and this power supply
should be externally protected with an automatic fuse of at least 2A.
The masthead unit for wind speed and wind direction must be placed outside and
preferably in a place that is free of turbulence. The point of the masthead unit must be
placed in such a manner that it points to the front part of the ship. If this not possible, one
may remove the masthead unit for the wind direction and re-align the same.
The ultra sonic masthead unit for wind speed and wind direction must be placed outside
and preferably in a place that is free of turbulence. Set up the align mark in parallel to the
axis of the vessel. pointing towards the bow. Here for the two stainless steel brackets can
be used.
In case this ultra sonic sensor is used, the small connection box has to be connected
instead of the RZ237 junction box. Fit the box on a dry and sheltered place and take care
the cables can easy be connected.

The display unit of the Sigma 130 can be connected to 1 or 2 power supply sources. For
greater operating reliability, we recommend that the Sigma 130 should be connected to
2 power supply sources. If the main 24V supply fails, the Sigma 130 will continue
working with the 24V emergency power supply.
If only 1 power supply source is used, the connections to the main power supply must
be looped-through to the connections of the emergency power supply. If this is not
done, each time that the power supply fails the power supply LED will light up in red
indicating the absence of one of the power supply sources.
If the Sigma 130 is connected to the 2 active power supply sources, the power supply
indicator LED will light-up in green.
If one of the two power supply sources fails, the power supply indicator LED will light-
up in red.

K2-7 and 8: Repeater output
An external analogue wind speed indicator of 1mA can be connected via K2-7 and K2-
8. An output has been provided on the K2-1 and K2-2 to enable dimming along with
the repeater units. The output voltage of this dimming signal is 15V and can control a
maximum of 150 mA.
This output transmits a $WIMWV message. The content of the message is as follows:
$WIMWV,aaa,b,c.c,d,e*hh<CR><LF>
Where:
aaa = Wind direction (0-359°).
b = T of R (True or Relative).
c.c = Wind speed.
d = M,K or N (M/s, Km/h or kNopen).
e = A (valid information).
hh = Checksum.
This input is used if the display unit is incorporated as a full-fledged repeater instrument
or if the information for the True-wind indication appears on the display unit rather
than on the junction box. In the first situation, the display unit reads $WIMWV
messages. In the second situation the wind information of the sensor generally comes
from the junction box and the ‘heading’- information ($..HDM, $..HDT or $..HDG
message) and the ‘speed over ground’ – information ($..VTG message) then come in at
this input.

4. Operation
This is a potentiometer with a switch that switches-on the device when turned in the
clockwise direction. With the device switched-on, the lighting can be adjusted between 5
to 100% by turning this potentiometer further to the right. If the lighting is increased to
the maximum level, the lighting in the foil is switched-off to increase the life of the
lamp.
4.2 Damping
With this setting, one can set the indications of the instrument at a lower level, in the
case of widely fluctuating winds that could lead to an unstable reading.
With this, one can select whether the wind speed reading shall be in metres per second
instead of Beaufort. On selecting the reading mode, the relevant LED will light-up.
With this, one can select whether the wind speed reading shall be in Beaufort instead of
metres per second. On selecting the reading mode, the relevant LED will light-up.
If a GPS is connected to the junction box of the display unit and this indicates the speed
over ground and the course, the Sigma 130 can determine and display the absolute wind.
On pressing this button, the absolute wind data will be displayed instead of the relative
wind data. The related LED shall light-up to indicate that you have selected this
function.
On selecting this function the display will show the wind data as measured with respect
to the ship. The related LED shall light-up to indicate that you have selected this
function.
This indicator shall light-up in green if both the power supply sources are present and
will change to red if one of the two power supply sources fails or is too low. The
indicator shall blink if there is no communication with the junction box or if no NMEA
signal is present.

5. Setting instructions
5.1 Setting of the 1mA output.
The output for the analogue measuring unit for wind speed can be set over the
potentiometers P1 and P4. The “0” can be set with P1, and the “GAIN” can be set
with P4. This can be done very easily by setting the instrument as a NMEA instrument
and to simulate the wind speed with a computer and a NMEA test programme.
($..MWV- messages)
In the junction box, one can set the NMEA string that will be used for calculating the
true wind indication. With DIPswitch 7 on “ON”, one can offer a $..HDT signal at the
NMEA input. If a $..HDM or a $..HDG signal is to be offered, this DIPswitch should
be in the “OFF” position. If a HDG signal is offered, the magnetic course will be
obtained from the same. The DIPswitches 1 to 6 must always be in the “OFF” position
and DIPswitch 8 must always be in the “ON” position.

2. Installationsvorschrift

$WIMWV,aaa,b,c.c,d,e*hh<CR><LF>
Wobei:
aaa = Windrichtung (0 - 359°).
b = T (True) oder R (Relative) (Tatsächlich oder Relativ).
c.c = Windgeschwindigkeit.
d = M, K oder N (m/s, km/h oder Knoten).
e = A (Daten gültig).
hh = Kontrollsumme.

Wobei:
$..VTG,a.a,T,b.b,M,c.c,N,d.d,K,e*hh<CR><LF>
Wobei:
a.a = Kurs über dem Grund in Grad
T = true (tatsächlich)
Winds verwendet)
M = magnetisch
c.c = speed over ground (Geschwindigkeit über dem Grund)
N = Knoten
d.d = speed over ground (Geschwindigkeit über dem Grund)
K = km/h
e = Modusanzeige
hh = Kontrollsumme
Warnung

(Berichte $..MWV).
