empfehlen.
Wasserbeschaffenheit in regelmäßigen Abständen prüfen.
Hinweise:

R911370699 | PS6000/PRC7000 with water cooling Bosch Rexroth AG 17/35
Schutzarten

WARNING
Use of non-qualified personnel!
Reduction of personal / plant safety, malfunctions / functional restrictions
possible!
Installation and service work for the coolant-technical part must only be
performed with the welding timer in a de-energized state.
The assembly of the cooling circuit and the plant may only be carried out
by qualified personnel.
4 Scope of delivery
5 Cooling circuit
Cooling circuit
Oxygen in the water may have a negative effect on the chemicals added for
treatment (e.g. precipitation).
Working temperatures of below 60°C promote algae growth.
Measures need to be taken to eliminate problems in closed water circuits. A
mechanical treatment by filtering alone is not sufficient in most cases. In addition
to a chemical treatment of the water or the use of a stable heat carrier,
constructional measures during plant design need to be taken as well.
The purpose of water treatment is to ensure:
Corrosion can not occur anymore.
Algae growth and sludge formation are prevented.
Particles loosened from incrustations and sludge are filtered out.
On the part of the system, it has to be ensured that the circuits are ventilated
thoroughly and further contact with air or oxygen is avoided to increase the
service life. Thereby are all in this cycle involved components and equipment
as tools and processing plant to consider.
English
The cooling circuit is closed (no penetration of oxygen) and is equipped with a
pressure-relief valve; it is always connected at the suction side of the pump.
The coolant is only guided through the lines and components necessary for heat
removal, refer to Fig. 1.
The water is used permanently in a circuit. In contrast to cooling in an open
circuit, the cooling water is circulated in a closed system and the heat is
discharged indirectly via the heat exchanger. Since there is no evaporation, no
thickening and thus no losses by evaporation and desalination will occur. The
closed system principally entails no losses so that it can be operated efficiently
with demineralized water.

5.2 Pressure
The maximum cooling system pressure must not exceed 10 bar. The pressure
should be chosen as low as possible to allow the use of pumps with a flat
characteristic.
The maximum permitted pressure difference for a heat sink is 200 kPa (2 bar).
The arrangement has to be chosen so that the total length of inflow and outflow
line is the same for each PS6000 / PRC7000 device (refer to Fig. 1).
The pressure drop per PS6000 / PRC7000 device is provided in the technical
data in Table 1: Necessary and supplementary documentation Rexroth PSI6xxx

Cooling circuit
5.3 Installation
The connection of the PS6000 devices should be made using tubes for
mechanical decoupling.
With respect to the coolant connection, care must be taken that no coolant
agent gets into the Weld Timer and Welding Transformer. It is recommended to
empty the coolant tubes prior to connection and plug the heat sink when
removing the coolant tubes.
Coolant
6 Coolant
Recommended values for water quality in the case of operation with untreated
water.
If the untreated water used in the temperature control circuit complies with the
following recommended values, it can normally be used without special treatment.
It is recommended to observe and periodically check these values for the
protection of the plant.
pH value 7.5 - 9
English
As a rule, tap water meets these requirements.
However, an anti-algae agent must be added.
CAUTION
Destruction possible of heat sinks and connections without suitable additions!
Loss of coolant liquid possible!
A chemist on site has to recommend suitable additives depending on the
water quality.
Check water quality periodically.
Notes:
The values for conductivity and hardness indicated for the temperature range
above can normally only be reached by means of previous softening and
desalination.
30/35 Bosch Rexroth AG R911370699 | PS6000/PRC7000 with water cooling
Coolant
Water treatment
If the values shown in the preceding table cannot be observed, an appropriate
water treatment is necessary. Please note the following:
For working temperatures greater than 110°C are advised, to soften the water.
Above 180°C a desalination is advised. Because with salt-free water the buffering
is missing, the water needs to be conditioned accordingly to stabilize the pH
value.
The values of treated water can deviate from the values of non-treated water.
They are in accordance with the information provided by the conditioner.
If the water is treated, the limit values for top-up and supplemental water
comply with the information provided by the conditioner; this also applies to the
interval for checking the water quality.
In water treatment, care must be taken that the media are suited to be
operated at maximum device temperatures.
Establishing and operating circuits with treated water is normally performed by
the user or a contracting partner. Both requires the corresponding advance
clarification and diligent action.
For a better understanding of the coolant recommendations provided here, Tab.5
describes a number of problems which may occur if these recommendations are
not followed.
Property of the coolant or Countermeasure

Water observing the limit Use of inhibitors. Closed circuit must have a pressure relief

Sulphates Dilute with de-ionized water until the limit value is reached.
Dissolved materials, e.g. Rinse cooling circuit without PS6000 devices. Use strainers

Materials
6.1.1 Inhibitor
Inhibitors are recommended, if the water quality differ from the values defined in
Tab.4: Coolant definition.
Corrosion inhibitors serve as active corrosion protection by means of which a
corrosive attack of the cooling water on the material - especially on low-alloy
steels - can be reduced. Inhibitors build more or less resistant protective layers or
actively stop the corrosion process by interfering in the corresponding reaction
(Source: VGB Directive R455).
6.1.2 Biocide
Closed cooling circuits with soft water are vulnerable to the increase of microbes.
In chlorinated drinking water systems, the risk of corrosion caused by microbes is
as far as possible excluded.
In practice, the following microbes have to be expected:
slime-forming bacteria
corrosive bacteria
iron depositing bacteria
A suitable biocide is dependent on the type of microbes. At least one water
analysis (to determine the number of colonies) per year is recommended.
The most commonly used biocides are chlorine gas, sodium hypochlorite and
chlorine dioxide (Source: Directive VGB R455).
Notice:
The type of bacteria determines the biocide.
The dosage and compatibility with a possibly used inhibitor must be adapted
according to the manufacturer's recommendation.
English
7 Materials
A variety of materials and components which may be present in a cooling circuit
or which are prohibited are listed in the table below. The devices PS6000 / PRC
7000 and PSG welding transformers have cooling circuits made of copper.
Dewing protection
Cast steel, gray cast iron Line, pump Closed circuit and use of strainers
and backwash filters
8 Dewing protection
Dewing of the devices has to be avoided by taking system-related measures.
Dewing occurs if the inlet temperature of the coolant is much lower than the room
temperature (air temperature). Depending on the relative humidity of the room air,
the temperature difference between coolant and air may be higher or lower. The
air temperature at which the water phase precipitates from the air is called dew
point.
The table below shows the dew points (in °C) for an atmospheric pressure of 1
bar (≈ altitude 0...500 m). If the coolant temperature ranges below these values,
dewing has to be expected, i.e. the coolant temperature always has to be ≥ dew
point temperature.
Tab. 7: Dew point temperature as function of the relative humidity and the room
temperature for an installation of 0 m
T Humidity Humidity Humidity Humidity Humidity Humidity Humidity Humidity Humidity
room 20% 30% 40% 50% 60% 70% 80% 90% 100%
[°C]
Degree of protection
The dew point is also dependent on the absolute pressure, i.e. on the installation
altitude. The dew points for low atmospheric pressures range below those at
altitude 0 m, therefore choosing the coolant inlet temperature for altitude 0 m is
always sufficient.
9 Degree of protection
10 Connection technology
The PS6000 / PRC7000 timers and PSG xxxx transformers have to be connected
at the feed and return lines using a flexible and electrically non-conductive tube
(refer to Section 7 Materials) in order to avoid electrochemical corrosion and
reduce the transmission of vibrations. The tube length (feed and return lines in
total) should be approx.1.5 m.
English
Connection of the coolant tubes should be made prior to assembly of the devices.
11 Commissioning, maintenance
11.1 Commissioning
After assembly of the PS6000 / PRC7000 devices and PSGxxxx transformers in
the system, the cooling circuit has to be commissioned prior to the electrical
system.
11.2 Maintenance
The service recommendation for the cooling circuit is to check the filling level and
the discoloration or clouding of the coolant at intervals of 3 months.
