• Da es ja immer noch ich es bin, der
zweifelt, kann ich an diesem Ich, selbst
wenn es träumt oder phantasiert,
selber nicht mehr zweifeln.

„Indem wir so alles nur irgend Zweifelhafte zurückweisen

und für falsch gelten lassen, können wir leicht annehmen,
dass es keinen Gott, keinen Himmel, keinen Körper gibt;
dass wir selbst weder Hände noch Füße, überhaupt keinen
Körper haben; aber wir können nicht annehmen, dass wir,
die wir solches denken, nichts sind; denn es ist ein
Widerspruch, dass das, was denkt, in dem Zeitpunkt, wo es
denkt, nicht bestehe. Deshalb ist die Erkenntnis: »Ich denke,
also bin ich,« von allen die erste und gewisseste, welche bei
einem ordnungsmäßigen Philosophieren hervortritt.

 Concept and general requirements
The module
• will provide an overview of Cognitive Neuroscience,
• will advance from elementary (basics, methods,
fundamental features) to more specific topics (moving
alongside the research focus of the lecturers),
• is addressed at master students of Psychology,
• aims at harmonizing and updating the background
knowledge of the attending students,
• conveys up-to-date knowledge about current theories and
findings including controversial topics.
 Concept and general requirements

Mixed design format:

• Typically the lecturer will provide a 45 minute lecture,
after which students will present an in-depth view and
discussion on a selected topic, followed by questions and
discussions moderated by the presenting students and
the lecturer.
• Student attendence will be monitored. Three sessions
can be missed without notice in WinterSemester, two in
summer semester. Please let us know if you miss any
additional sessions for personal reasons.
 Exam

• 90-minute written examination at the end of the module

(exam dates will be published by the examination office =
Prüfungsamt) unless otherwise announced.
• Lecturers provide learning goals and sample questions on
their topics in their lectures to make demands
transparent.
• Slides for each lecture will be available 24 hours on OLAT
before the lecture. Relevant for the exam are the
contents of the lectures (not the student’s presentations)
and the literature accompanying the lecture (not that of
the students’s presentations; these will not be relevant
for the exam).
 Additional Info
• Do not presume that slides on OLAT are finalized unless
dated shortly before the lecture. Some may be from last
year‘s course and will be amended.

• If presentation and exam are both performed in English,

the full 8 CP can be used for the English Certificate.

• Jede Sitzung: 45 Minuten Dozent (Aufzeichnung), 45

Minuten Studierende. Bitte Zeit für Diskussion reservieren!
Also nur Impulsvorträge! Bilder, keine Textfolien!
• Folien mind. 4-5 Tage vorher an Dozent*in senden.
• Anwesenheitspflicht
• Prüfung: Folien und Basisliteratur sind relevant, aber
NICHT die Studierendenbeiträge. Beispielfragen werden
gegeben.
• Literatur in Datei „Seminarplan“ auf OLAT.
• Studienleistung und Modulprüfung können entkoppelt
werden (aber Aktualisierungen beachten!).
• Termin Prüfung: TBA; Fragen von jedem Dozenten
 Weiteres zur Konzeption

• Die Dozenten geben in ihren Vorlesungen Lernziele und

Beispielfragen an, um die Klausuranforderungen
transparent zu machen.
• Die Folien zu jeder Vorlesung sowie Literaturhinweise
befinden sich 24 Stunden vor der jeweiligen Vorlesung
auf OLAT.
• Prüfungsrelevant sind die Inhalte der Vorlesung (nicht
der Studierendenbeiträge), ergänzt durch Vorlesungs-
Literatur (NICHT Referate-Literatur).
