Maintenance
Specilic instruclionsi
The rectifier and varistor modules ar6 lix€d to a hub with i\
radial screws. Faully modules can be replaced es lollows.
AIier undoing the iixing screws end the contacl screws,
wilhdraw the laulty modules in an axial dir€ction trom
under the conneclor rings. Apply s thin coal of vaseline
to the conlacling surlaces ol the connector rings and ol
lhe replacement modules. Fit the modules with the cor-
rect polarily (negalive pole towards lhe drive end), apply
Loclile lo the lixing and contact scr€ws end tighten them
using a torque spannef
Specilied tightening torque
of the fixing screws: 4.5 Nn to 5.5 Nm

b6im Transport vor Schaden zu schijtz6n. Di€s€ Vorrich,
tung ist €rsl vor d€m Aulziehen des Antri€bselement€s
zu €nlf€rnen. Falls di6 Maschin€ in Sondeflall€n nach
d€rn Au{zi€hen des Anlri€bs€l€mantes lransportisrl wor-
d€n muB, sind anderweitige geeign6t6 Ma0nehmsn 2ur
Axiallixierung des Ldul€rs €rford6rlich.
Maschinen in V-Bauformen mit SchrSgkug€llegern sind in
s€nkrechter Betriebslage zu lransporti€ren. Sollt€ in Son-
(. dert:illen ein Transpod in weegrechtsr Lage erlordeilich
sein, so muR der Lduler mittels Lauferhallevorrichtung li-
xierl sern, bevor die Maschine vorsichlig umgelegl wird.
Maschin6n mit rundem. geschweiRten Slind€rg€haus€
heben an den Li;ngs.ippen jeweils zwei 8ohrlrngen, an
denen eine Anh;jngelasche zLrm Umlegen der Maschine
und Heben in waagrechter Lege angeschraubt werden
kenn. Beim Absetzen isl besonders darauf zu achlen, da0
di€ Maschine gegen Wegrollen gesichert ist und jeweits
mit den Geheuseilanschen aufliegt, da d€r Gehduseman-
tel leilweise nicht zur Aulnahme des gesamten Maschi-
nBng€wichl€s ausgelegl isl.
Wird eine Maschine nichl gleich in Betrieb genommen, so
soll sie in einem trockenen, erschijlterungslreien Raum
gelagerl werden.
Montage
Erlorderliche SchmierfteBnahmen fijr normale Lagerein-
sdtz€ vor oder bei d€r Monlege der Maschinen sind in der
Zusatzanleilung "Welzlager" bzw. "Gloillager" enlhal
len.
Di6 Maschinen mirssen so aulgesl€llt w€rden, daB die
Kiihllult ungehinderl zu- und abstrdmen kann. Warms
Coo Ablult darf nicht wieder angesaugt w6rden. Sind die Be-
l0ftungsiilf nungen durch Kiemenbleche sbged€ckt, so
mijssen zur Wehfung der Schutzart die iiberdachten
Schlitz€ nach unten zeig€n.
Vorhenden€ Leuferhaltovorrichtung €ntl6rnen. Hinwois€

djhrungsschutz drehender Teile (Kupplungen, Riem€n-

Beschreibung
Birstenbse Synchrongeneratoren haben ein€ Hauptma_
schine und ein€ Erregermaschrne. Die Erregerwicklung
der Hauptmaschine wird von der L:iulerwicklung der Er-
rege.maschin€ ijber einen rolierenden Gleichrichtersatz
in Drehslrombriickenschaltung erngespeast. Die Efregung
d€r Eregermaschin€ erfolgt durch die THYRIPART-
Erregung.
Als THYRIPART-Enegungseinrichtung wtrd die Kombana-
tion von Enegergerat und ThyristorSpannungs.egler be-
zeichn€t. Oer jeweils erlorderliche Erregerslrom wi.d
ilber das Erregergeret durch die Hauplmaschine gelielen.
Das Errcgergerdt ist so eingeslellt, da8 stch ohne Eingrrit
des Regle6 (ollene Steckverbhduog X1) uber den ge-
samten Lastbereich ein'e Generalorspannung einstellt, die
riber der hochslen Sollspannung liegt. Der Regler leitel er'
nen Teildes vom Erregergerdt abgegebenen Erregerstro-
mes an der Erregermaschine vorbei und regelt damii die
Geneaatorspannung.

Beschreibung
Biirstenlose Synchrongeneratoren haben eine Haupt-
maschine und eine Erregermaschine. Die Erregerwick-
lung der Hauptmaschine w;rd von der Lauferwicklung
der Erregermaschine ijber einen rotierenden Gleich'
richtersatz in Drehstrombriickenschaltung g€speist. Die
Erregung der Erregermaschine erfolgt durch die THY
R IPART-Er.egun9.
Als T HY R IPART- E rregungseinrichtung wird die Kom
bination von Erregergeret und Thyristor-Spannungs.

The three phase generator votrage, having been reduced
io 24 V by rhe measurang-circuit transformers, isapptied
1o terminals 17, 18 and 19. A direct voltage of approx.
30 V (terminal 20 to terminal 13 or 14) is produced

When the generalor is operating by itsetl, rhe thyristor
voltage controller controls the generator voltage to the
preset reference value. Frequ€ncy changes due to the

fluence the accuracy of the generator output voltage.

Gewehrleistung rbernommen werden.

Raum gelagert werden.

maschine und eioe Erregermaschine. Die Err€gerwick-
lung der Hauptmaschine wird von der Liiuferwicklung
der Erregermaschine ijber einen rotierenden Gleich-
richtersatz in Orehstrombrirckenschaltung €€sp€ist. Die
Erregung der Erregermaschine erfolgt durch die THY-
R IPA RT-E rregung.
Als THYRIPART-Erregungseinrichtung wird die Kom-
bination von Erregergeret und Thyristor.Spannungs-

raten. Fur Schaden oder Unzul.nglichkeiren, die durch
Verenderung der Einstellunq auftreren, kann keine Ce-
wrhrleistung tbernommen werden,

Die Generaro-ref, sind im allgemeinen fiir Rechts- und
Linkslauf geeignet. Generatoren, die nur in einem be-
stimmten Orehsinn laufen dijrlen, sind auf d€m Lei'
stungslchild mit einem entsprechenden Drehrichtunge
pfeil und dem Zusar2 ,,nur"gekenn2eichnet . Wenn aus
elektrischen Grinden nur ein Drehsinn zulassig ist,
wird die Erreger€inrichtung im Werk fijr den mit der
Beslellung fesrgelegten Drehsinn geschaltet. 8ei An,
derung des Drehsinnes sind die auf dem Schaltplan an-
gefiihrten AnschluBenderungeo durchzufijhren. Dabei
ist zu priif€n, ob mechanische Grijnde nur einen be.
stimmten Drehsinn zulassen {2. B, Liifter mit ge.
krijmmten Flugelnl.
Auf dem Reglerbausr€in belinden sich 2 Potentio-
meter VReq und Usoll. Die Regleruerstarkung wurde
am Potentidmeter VReo und der Sollwert der Genera-
torspannung am Poteniiometer USott b€i der Werk-
prij{ung eingesrellt. Sollte eine nachtr4lliche Justierung
notwendig werden, so kann dies nach Lds€n der Fesl-
nellschraube am Potentiocleter erf olgen.
Mit dem Potentiometer VReq kann das dynamische
Verhalten d€5 Regelkre;ses beeinfluBt werden. Eei Ein
nellung des Orehknopfes am Potentiometer in Rich-
tung sinkender Zahlen wird der Regelkreis im allge-
meinen stabile. und die Regelung langsamcr.
Der Sollwert der Generatorspannung bzw. de. Einstell-
bereich des 6uBeren Sollwertstellers kann mit Hilie
des Potentlometers USoll nach oben oder unten ver-

The model of bearing is favorably chosen as for di-

changed. The permissible vatues of axial and radial
forces may be taken from the lis! of machine or maY
be inquired.
The machines should operate in only one type of con-
struction as shown the rating plate, because another
type of construction required perhaps further measu.es
in addition to a modification ol the model of b€aring.
Alwavs in this case an inquirv is necessary.

oll in the works with a lithium.soap grease No. 100 Regre6sing

Die Gleitlager neuer Maschinen haben ein den aet.iebs.

(Tusch eren) ist nicht zulrssig. Es wiirde die Laufeigen-
schaf ten ungLinstig beeinf lussen.
Es wird empfohlen, mir der Kontur des Antrlebselc
mentes inne.halb des schraffierten Eereiches zu b e ben
(siehe Schnittbild und Tabelle), damit bei sp:rteren
Warlungsarbeiten das Lagergehause-Oberteil auch bai
aufgezogenem Antriebselemenr abgenommen werden

Vor Beginn der Ausrchtarbeiten und vor Inbetrieb-
nahme der M.schinen miissen die Lager mit Schmierdl
gelullt sein (siehe ,,Wartung"), da die Maschinen ohne
OlfUllung in den Lagern geliefert sind.
Wartung
Die Lager sind von Zeir zu Zeit auf ihre Erwdrmung
hin zu beobachten. Dabei ist nicht so sehr die H6he der
ErwArmung, sondern das Temperaturverhalten des La-
gprs maBg€b€nd. Bei einer srerk€ren Schwankung der
Lag€rtemperatur ohne auBeren AnlaB, vor allem bei
sprunghaften Anderungen sollte die Maschine stillge-
setzr und das OI €rneuert vverden.
Das Schmierol laur Schildangabe isr fir einen Anlauf
bei einer Umgebungstemperatur von ilber +5 oC ge
e,g.et. B€i nledrigeren Umgebungstemperaturen (bis
'erwa -20 oCl ist ein Vorw;.men des Oles ausreichend.
Fa ls Umgebungstemperaturen unter -20 oC auflreten,

Before the machines are aligned and commissioned,
the bcarings should be filled with lubricating oil (see
"Marntenance")r because the machines are delivered
without oil in the baarings.
Maintenance
Check the bearing temperature regularly. The govern' Olw€chsel

temp€rature variations over a period of time. lf abrupt

down the machine and renew the oil-
The lubricating oil indicared on the data plate is used
for srariing up the machine at an ambient iemperature
of atrove +5 dC. Ar lower temperatures (to aboul
,20 oC) it s sufficient to preheat the oil. lftheambi€nt
lemperature are below -20 oC another type of oil

oils of different grades.
Recommended oil changing antervals are about 30OO

liche Umlaufschmierung (Bild 1l vorgesehen. Hierfir

Montage
Die Gl€itlager neuer Maschinen haben ein den Betriebs'
bedingungen €ntsprechend optimales L€gerspiel, das
nicht ge;ndert werden sollte. Auch das Nachschaben
(Tuschieren) ist nicht zulessis. Es wilrde di€ Laufeisen-
schaf ten ungijnstig beeinf lussen.
E5 wird empfohlen. mit der Kontur des Antriebs-
elementes innerhalb des schraffierten Eereiches zu
bleiben {siehe Schnittbild und Tabelle), damit bei
sp:jteren Wartungsarbeiren das LagergehAuse-Oberteil
auch bei auf gezogenem Antriebselem€nt abgenommen
Vor Eeginn der Ausrichtarbeiten miissen die Lager mit
Schmier6t (Olsorte siehe Schildangabe) gefiillt sein,
da die Maschinen ohne Olfiillung in den Lagern ge-
lietert sind.
Vor lnbetriebnahme der Maschinen sind die Gleitlager
mit Rohrleitungen an Olpumpe, Olbehalter und Kiihler
anzuschlieBen. Reduzierst0cke in den Rohrleitungen
sind nicht zul;issig. Um die Lager vor Uberflutung zu
schiit2en, ist in die Ol-Zulaof leilung ein Regelventil
und ein einstellbarer Rilcklauf fnr den Oliib€rschuB €in-
zubauen. Bei Ausfall der Olpumpe werden die Lauf-
flachen nur noch durch den Schmier.ing mit Ol ver-
sorgt. Diese Notlaufschmierung {erwa 15 bis 30 min.)
ist nur wirksam, wenn das im Lager befindliche Ol
nicht abflie8en kann. Deshalb ist die dl.Ablau fle itu ng
auf der Seite anzuschlieBen, aLrf der der Schmierring
in das Ol hineinl;uft. Ferner ist in die Ol-Zulauf-
leitung ein Rackschlagvenril einzubauen. Wahlwease
kann die Ol-Zulaufleitung durch Uberhcihung um et$/a
100 mm zu einem Wehr ausgebaut werden. Um ein
Streifen der Schmierringe zu vermeiden, dijrfen OI'
Ablaufrohre nur bis zum AbschluB mit der Lagerge-
hSuse'l nnenwand eangesch.aubt werden.
Der Olbehalter ist mit Schmierdl laut Schildangabe zu
filllen. Dieses Schmier6l ist fiir den Anlauf bei einer
Umgebungstemperatur von iber +5 oC geeignet. Bei
n,edrigeren Temperatoren ist das Ol vorzuwirmen.
Hierzu wird empfohlen, eine Reqeleinrichrung einzu-
bauen und sie so eir?ustellen, daB das Schmierdl im
Olbehatter auf +15 bis +20 oC tempe.iert wird und
die Maschine €rst anlaufen kann, wenn die Lager 5 bls
10 Minuten Iang mit dem temperienen Ol durchgespalt

Oldruck am Lagereintritt und Olumlaulmenge sind den
Schidangaben zu entnehmen Diese Werte sind bei der

These flange bearings of electrical machines are of the
split type. They are lubricated bv an oil rillg and are

Corresponding to the operating condirions rhe sleeve
bearings of new machines have a favorable bearing
clearanc€ r{hich should not be changed. Also scaping
{spot€rinding) is nor altowed to do not make worse

It is recommended that the contour of the transmission
element remains within the hatched range (see the sec,
tion and the table) to remove the upper part of the
bearing housing for maint€nance without removing rhe
transmission element.
Before the machines are aligned, the bearings should be
filled with lubricating oil {oil type is indicated on the
daia platel. because the machines are delivered without
oil in the bearings.
Connect the bearings to the oil pump, oil tank and
cooler before commissioning the machine. No reducers
must be fitted in the piping. Install a regulating valve
and an adiustable overflow return to the oil tank in the
oil supply line to protect the b€aring lrom flooding-
lf the oil pump fails, the lubrication maintained by the
oil-ring is €ff€ctive for aboLrt 15 to 30 minutes,
provided the oil contained an the bearing does not
drain away. To prevent this, connect the oil discharge
tube on that side where the oil ring moves downwa.ds
into the oil. In additaon to this, install a non return
valve in the oil supply line. As an alternative, the oil
supply line may be arranged to form a neck, about
10O mm high, to raise the level of the oil in thc
bearing. Oil discharge tubes must terminate flush wirh
the inside surface of the bearing housing to prevent
the oil rings from rubbing against the tubes.
Fill the oil tank with lubricatinq oil indicated on the
dara plate. This oil is used for starting up the machine
at an ambient temperature of above +5 oC. at lower
lemperarures preheat the oil. tt is recomfiended to use
a cont.ol system adjusted in sr.rch a manner to have an
oil rcmperature of 15 ro 20 "C jn the rank and ro have
a preheated oil flow through tho cold bearings for 5 to
10 minutes before starting up the machine. Do nol
mir oils of diff€rent srades.
The necessary pr€ssure of the oil entered the bearings
and the oil flow rate are indicated on the dala plat€.
Adjust to these values when srarting up the machine
for the first time and corred them when the bearing
has attained its normal running lempe.ature. The orl

Bei Lagern, die gegen Lagerltrdme isoli€ sind, ist
daraur zu achten, daA die lsolation nicht du.ch die
Rohrleitungen ijberbrijckt wird. In diesem Fall ist die
elektrisc-he Leitf;higkeir der Ftohrleitungen, z. B. mit-
tels dlbestAndiger Kunsrstoffittings bzw. Gummi- oder
Kunststoffschl;uchen, an den Lagern zu unt€rbrechen.
Vor jedem Anlauf der Maschine muB die Olpumpe €in
seschaltet sein. Nur in Sonderf;llen bei kurzen An
oder Auslaufzeiten der Maschine isi der Antrieb der 6l-
pumpe dorch die Welle der Hauptmaschine zulassig.
Wartung
D,e Lage. sind von Zeit zu Zeir aul ihre Erw:irmung
hin zu beobachten. Dabei ist nicht so sehr die H6he
der Erwrrmung, sondern das Temperaturverhatren des
Lagers maBsebend. 8ei einer starkeren Schwankuns
der Lagertemp€ratur ohne eu8€ren AnlaB, vor allem
bei sprunghaften Anderungen sollr€ di€ Maschine still,
gesel2l und das Ol erneuert we.den.
Olwechsel wird nach etwa 200OO Betriebsstunden
empfohlen. Nach Ablassen d€s alten Oles aus den
Lagern und dem Olbehalter wird bei stillstehender Ma-
sch,ne d,e-Olq!mpe kLrrl.,errig mrt Petroleum und an-
schlreBend mriOl be(|ieben. um Lager, dlpumpe, 0t.
beh6lter, Kiihler und Rohrleitungen zu reinigen- Das
Petroleum bzw. spater das Ol wird durch die €infiill-
6flnung des OlbehSlters eingegossen. Die AblaBschrau-
b€n an Lagern und Olbehaltern werden so lange zeit'
!r'eise heralisgeschraubt, bis alle Petroleumreste ver-
d.;ngt sind und reines dl austritt. Dann werden die
AblaBoffnungen verschlossen und der 0lbehijlter wird
mit Ol gefnllt- Sollte die Lagertemperatur nach dem
Olwechsel nicht auf den urspriinglachen Wert zurijck'
gesansen sein, so wird empfohlen. die Laufflachen
de. Laqerschalen zu priifen.
Zum Zertegen der Maschine braucht das Lagergehbuse.
Unrerteil nicht vom Lagerschild abgeschraubt zu wer"
den. Beim Offnen des Lagergeheuses ist festzustellen,
ob und auf weicher N4aschinenseite Einstellbeilagen
(ObeG und Unterteile) vorhanden sind. damit diese
b€im Zusammenbau an der ursprilnglichen Stelle ein'
gebaut werden- Ausnahmen sind u. U. moglich, wenn
das Standerblechpaket ausgetauscht wurde. Nach Ab'
tassen des 0les, Abheben des Lagergeheuse-Oberteiles
sowie der oberen Lagerschaie und Anheben der Welle
um einige zehntel Millimeter sind die untere Lager
schale sowie die Dichtungsringe in L,mfangsrichtung
herauszuschwenken. Der Schmierring kann in Schreg-
lage zur Welle mit schraubenartiger Bewegung heraus-
genommen werden.

In the case of insulated bearings, make sure th€t the
insulation is not bridged by the tubes; inrerrupt the
electrical conductivity of the tubes near the bearing5,
e. g- by installing oil-resistant fittings of plastic material
or hoscs of rubber or plastic maierial.
Switch on th€ oil pump before starting up the ma'
chine. The use of a pump driven from the shaft of rhe
main machine is permitted only in special cases, i. e.
whcn the acceleration and coasting times are shorl.
Maintearance
Check the bearing temperature regularly. The govern-

srill and rhe old ojl is drained out of the bearings and
oil tank operare the oil pump with kerosene for a short
time and then with oil to clean the b€a.ings, the oil
purnp, the oil tank, the cooler and the pipe lines. Pour
in the kerosene and then the oil through the filling
opening of the oil t6nk. Leave the drains open from
time lo time untill all the keros€ne has been removed
and clean oil runs out of the bearings and oil tank.
Now, plug the drains and fill the tank with oil- Should
the bearing temperature not drop to rhe normal value
after the oil change, it is recommended that the sur
faces of the bearing shells be inspected.

part of the bearing housing and the upper bearing shell,

tion- The oil ring can be wilhdrawn by holding it at an

the cyliodrical shape of the bore is mainted, so that a
good oil tilm can form. The lining must be renewed
if Drore sclous damagc is found. The oil pockets and
grooves ol the new lining or scraped shell should be
cleancd and finished with particular care (Fig.21.
