What you can expect
Auf den folgenden Seiten dieser Broschre stellen wir Ihnen die einzelnen Baugruppen der
zylindrischen Motorleitungstrommel DZKD vor. Die Broschre baut darauf auf, dass unsere
Kunden entweder bereits eine entsprechende Leitung vorliegen haben oder spezielle Angaben ber Aderanzahl und Einzelader-Querschnitt machen knnen. Je nach Wunsch bieten
wir ggf. eine Leitung mit an und werden diese vor Auslieferung (soweit mglich) auf dem
Trommelkrper auflegen und an den Schleifringbertrager anschliessen.
Bei Fragen und speziellen Anforderungen, die nicht in dieser Broschre erwhnt werden
(z. B. spiralige Leitungstrommeln, Schlauchtrommeln, speziell veredelte Trommelkrper, usw.)
stehen Ihnen selbstverstndlich unsere Projektierer zur Verfgung.
Am Ende dieser Broschre befindet sich ein Fragebogen zu den Anforderungen an die
Motorleitungstrommel, den Sie bei Bedarf ausfllen und STEMMANN-TECHNIK zusenden
knnen. Bei vollstndig ausgeflltem Fragebogen garantieren wir unseren Kunden ein Angebot innerhalb 24 Stunden nach Eingang des Fragebogens.
On the following pages of this brochure we will introduce you to the individual components
of the cylindrical motor cable reel DZKD. The brochure proceeds from the fact that our
customers either already hold a corresponding cable in possession or can give special information on quantity and single core-cross section. Upon request we also quote a cable, if
necessary, which will be laid on the reel body (as far as possible) and connected to the slipring assembly prior to delivery.
In case of questions and special requirements, which are not mentioned in this brochure
(e.g. spiral cable reels, hose reels, specially ennobled reel bodies, etc.), our technicians will
be at your service.
At the end of this broche you will find a questionnaire for special requirements for the motor
cable reel which you can fill in and send to STEMMANN-TECHNIK if you are interested in
our motor cable reel. If the questionnaire is completely filled in we will ensure that our customers will receive a quotation within 24 hours after receipt of the questionnaire.

Die Aufrechterhaltung der Energie- und Datenbertragung verlangt ein permanent

verfgbares System zum Speichern und Freigeben der Leitungen, das die Bewegung
des Verbrauchers mglichst synchron mitvollzieht. Die Grundmuster der Bewegung
- Wegstrecke, Richtung, Beschleunigung, Geschwindigkeit, Masse - werden dabei
allein durch den Einsatz des Verbrauchers selbst bestimmt. Ein System, das derartigen Anforderungen gengt, sind Leitungstrommeln mit Motorantrieb.
Motorleitungstrommeln der Typen DZKD dienen zur Energie-, Daten- oder
Medienbertragung fr ortsvernderliche Verbraucher.
Je nach Anforderungen und Einsatzort fertigen wir zylindrische oder spiralige Leitungstrommeln zum Auf- und Abwickeln von Leitungen oder Schluchen. Bei
Bedarf realisieren wir mit Hilfe dieser Leitungstrommel eine Datenbertragung mittels spezieller Schleifringbertrager und/oder Lichtwellenleiter.
Motorleitungstrommeln der Typen DZKD zeichnen sich durch kontinuierliche Verbesserungen in Design und Technik aus, wobei die Fundamentabmessungen seit 1975 geblieben sind. Dadurch wird ein leichtes Austauschen der
Trommel ermglicht. Um mglichst kurze Lieferzeiten zu erreichen (bei Standardkomponenten nach Absprache 2 bis 3 Tage), wurden die einzelnen Baugruppen
berarbeitet und werden heute in Serie gefertigt.
Die Motorleitungstrommeln bestehen aus folgenden Baugruppen:

Wichtigster Bestandteil der Motorleitungstrommel ist die Leitung, da ber diese Leitung die gesamte Trommel ausgelegt wird.
To maintain the energy- and data-transmission a permanently available system for
storing and releasing of the cables is needed which performs the movements
together with the movable machine as synchronously as possible. Thereby the basic
patterns of the movement - track distance, direction, acceleration, speed, mass are only determined by the movable machine itself. A system that complies to these
requirements are motor-driven cable reels.
Motor cable reels of the types DZKD serve for energy-, data- and media-transmission for non-stationary machines.
According to the requirements and application site we manufacture cylindrical and
spiral cable reels for winding on an off of cables or hoses. If demanded we realize
a data-transmission with this cable reel by means of special slipring assemblies
and/or fibre optic-conductors.
Motor cable reels of the types DZKD distinguish themselves by continuous improvements with regard to design and technique, whereas the foundation-dimensions
stayed the same since 1975. Thus an easy replacement of the reel is enabled. To
achieve as short delivery times as possible (for standard-components acc. to agreement 2 to 3 days) the individual components have been reworked and manufactured in series from now on.
The motor cable reels consist of the following components:

The most important component of the motor cable reel is the cable, because the
complete reel is designed around this cable.

Standardmig bieten wir fr die Motorleitungstrommeln vom Typ DZKD zylindrische Trommelkrper an.
Je nach Platzbedarf am Einsatzort knnen auch spiralig wickelnde Motorleitungstrommeln geliefert werden.
Der Trommelkrper besteht aus verzinktem Stahlblech, kann aber nach Kundenwunsch in Aluminium (bei einer Gewichtseinsparung von ca. 15 kg und gleichen
mechanischen Belastungen) oder lackiert geliefert werden. Getriebe und Motor
der Motorleitungstrommel sind lackiert, wobei eine spezielle Lackierung auf
Anfrage realisiert werden kann.
Der Trommelkrper wird mit einer seitlichen ffnung in einer der beiden Bordscheiben ausgeliefert, durch die die Leitung nach aussen und in die Hohlwelle
der Leitungstrommel zum Schleifringbertrager gefhrt wird.
Die Leitung wird mit seitlich an der Bordscheibe angebrachten Leitungsschellen
am Trommelkrper befestigt.
Um den Mindestbiegeradius der aufzutrommelnden Leitung einzuhalten, knnen
die Leitungsschellen universell am Trommelkrper angebracht werden.
As a standard presetting we offer cylindrical reel bodies for motor cable reels of
type DZKD.
According to the required space at the application site the cable reel can also be
delivered in spiral version.
The reel body is made of the galvanized steel, but upon customer's requests it
can also be delivered in aluminium version (at a weight reduction of approx. 15
kgs and the same mechanical loads) or painted version. Gear and motor of the
motor cable reel are painted, whereas a special painting can be effected if
requested.
The reel body will be delivered with a lateral opening in one of the two flanges
through which the cable is lead to the outside and into the hollow shaft of the
cable reel to the slipring assembly. The cable is fastened to the reel body by
means of cable clamps that are laterally attached to the flange. To keep the
minimum bending radius of the cable to be reeled the cable clamps can be attached universally to the reel body.
Hinweis:
Aufgrund geringer Nachfrage nach spiraligen Leitungstrommeln und nach
Schlauchtrommeln werden diese in dieser Broschre weiter nicht behandelt. Bei
Bedarf fertigen wir eine dieser Trommeln fr Sie an. Setzten Sie sich ggf. direkt
mit STEMMANN-TECHNIK in Verbindung oder markieren Sie in dem Fragebogen am Ende dieser Broschre die Wicklungsart spiralig.
Note:
Due to a low demand for spiral cable reels and for hose reels, they will not be
further discussed in this brochure. If requested we will produce one of these reels
for you. If necessary, please contact STEMMANN-TECHNIK directly or mark the
winding type spiral in the questionnaire at the end of this brochure.
Motorleitungstrommel-Antrieb
Motor cable reel-drive
Der Antrieb der Motorleitungstrommel erfolgt durch einen Stillstandsmotor, der
die Trommel nur im aufzuwickelnden Drehsinn antreibt. Beim Abwickeln der Leitung wird der Motor gegen seinen eigentlichen Drehsinn durchgezogen, wodurch
die Leitung stets auf Zug gehalten und ein berfahren der Leitung vermieden
wird. Die eingesetzten Motoren besitzen eine Bremse, die beim Abschalten des
Motors oder bei Stromausfall die Leitungstrommel selbstndig abbremst.
Das eingesetzte Getriebe hat zwei feste bersetzungen und kann durch ein Vorsteckgetriebe auf vier bersetzungen erweitert werden. Es wird mit lfllung ausgeliefert und ist sofort einsatzbereit.
Die Auswahl von Motor und Getriebe, bezogen auf Drehmoment und bersetzung, ist immer abhngig von der Lnge und dem Gewicht der Leitung sowie
der Fahrgeschwindigkeit des Verbrauchers. Spezielle Antriebe sind auf Kundenwunsch lieferbar. Setzen Sie sich ggf. mit STEMMANN-TECHNIK in Verbindung.
The drive of the motor cable reel is effected by a torque motor which only drives
the reel in the winding on-sense of rotation. During winding off of the cable the
motor is pulled through against its original sense of rotation, whereby the cable
is always kept tensioned and it is avoided that the cable is run over. The motors
used are equipped with a brake which independently brakes the cable reel in
case of switched off motor or power failure.
The gear used has two fix transmission ratios and can be extended to four transmission ratios by means of a plug in-gear. It will be delivered with oil filling and
be used immediately.
The selection of motor and gear with regard to torque and transmission ratio
always is depending on the length and the weight of the cable as well as the travel speed of the movable machine. Special drives can be delivered upon customer's requests. If necessary, please contact STEMMANN-TECHNIK.
Die Absicherung des Elektromotors geschieht ber einen Motorschutzschalter, der
den Antrieb bei berlastung automatisch abschaltet und die Bewegung des entsprechenden Verbrauchers stoppt.
Fr den Antrieb der Motorleitungstrommel gibt es folgende zwei Betriebsmglichkeiten, die von der jeweiligen Bewegung des Verbrauchers abhngen:
Aussetzbetrieb
Dauerbetrieb
Aufgrund des einfachen Antriebs ist keine aufwendige Schaltung erforderlich.
Die entsprechenden Schaltungen finden Sie auf der folgenden Seite. ber diese
Schaltungen wird die Funktion der Motorleitungstrommel auch bei niedrigen
Temperaturen sichergestellt.
The protection of the electric motor is effected by a motor protection switch
which automatically switches off the motor when it is overloaded. It stops the
movement of the respective movable machine.
For the drive of the motor cable reel there are the following two operation capabilities which are depending on the respective movement of the movable machine:
intermittent service
continuous service
Due to the simple drive there is no need for an extensive control.
The corresponding circuit switching are shown on the following page. By means
of these circuit switchings the function of the motor cable reel is ensured even at
low temperatures.

Electrical control of the motor cable reel
Die Motorleitungstrommel wird auf dem elektrischen Verbraucher montiert, wobei
der Motoranschluss kundenseitig nach dem nebenstehenden Schaltplan erfolgen
kann.
Der Antriebsmotor besitzt eine Bremse, die im spannungslosen Zustand reagiert
und die Motorleitungstrommel abbremst.
The motor cable reel is installed onto the electrical unit, motor connection is made
by the customer, according to the circuit diagram, see illustration.
In the drive motor there is installed a brake which acts in dead condition and
which brakes the motor cable reel.

Bei Dauerbetrieb liegt an dem Motor stets eine Spannung an. Diese Beschaltung
ist nur dann sinnvoll, wenn die Leitungstrommel stndig bewegt wird. Bei dieser
Betriebsart erwrmt sich der Motor auf ca. 130 C.
During continuous operation there is always a voltage supply to the motor. This
actuation is only then useful if the cable reel is continuously moved. During this
kind of operation the motor is heated to approx. 130 C.
Schaltung fr Aussetzbetrieb
Wiring for intermittent operation
Aussetzbetrieb empfehlen wir aufgrund von Energiesparmanahmen, wenn zwischen den einzelnen Fahrintervallen des elektrischen Verbrauchers lngere Stillstandszeiten vorhanden sind.
For saving energy we recommend intermittent operations if longer stand still times
occur between the single operation intervals of the electric user.

Bei extrem niedrigen Temperaturen empfehlen wir, den Antriebsmotor mit einer der
folgenden drei Mglichkeiten zu beheizen:
Erwrmung des Motors ber die eigene Wicklung (vgl. nebenstehenden
Schaltplan)
Der Motor wird im Dauerbetrieb gefahren (100 % ED).
Der Motor wird ca. 2 Stunden vor dem Einschalten des Verbrauchers
eingeschaltet.
At extremely low temperatures we recommend to heat the drive motor with one of
the following three possibilities:
Heating of the motor by means of internal winding (cf. adjacent wiring
diagram)
The motor is run in continuous operation (100 % duty cycle).
The motor is switched on approx. 2 hours before switching on the movable
machine.

Slipring assemblies
Schleifringbertrager stellen die Stromversorgung der elektrischen Verbraucher
sicher. Sie bilden den bergang von der fest verlegten Leitung auf dem Verbraucher zu der beweglichen Leitung auf dem Trommelkrper. Je nach verwendeter
Leitung werden in der Motorleitungstrommel unterschiedliche Schleifringbertrager mit oder ohne Datenbertragungsfunktionen eingesetzt.
Die standardmig eingesetzten Schleifringbertrager sind fr die entsprechenden Leitungen/Querschnitte ausgelegt. Die Energiezufhrung erfolgt ber Messing-Schleifringe und Bronzekohlen.
Wird ein Schleifringbertrager zur Datenbertragung bentigt, so empfehlen wir
neben dem normalen noch den Einsatz eines bako-Schleifringbertragers.
Slipring assemblies ensure the power supply for the electrical machines. They
form the transition from the stationarily laid cable on the movable machine to the
movable cable of the reel body. According to the cable used, different slipring
assemblies with or without data-transmission function are used in the motor
cable reel. The slipring assemblies used as a standard presetting are designed
for the corresponding cables/cross sections. The energy supply is effected brass
sliprings and bronze carbons.
If a slipring assembly is needed for data-transmission we recommend to use a
bako-slipring assembly besides the normal slipring assembly.

bako-Schleifringbertrager vom Typ LP 60 eignen sich zur bertragung digitaler Signale bei 2 und 4-Draht Daten-BUS-Systemen, Interbus S-Systemen, Serielle Schnittstellen (z. B. RS 485), Rechnergesttzte SPS-Steuerungen, usw.
Die Schleifringe des LP 60 bestehen aus einer glasfaserverstrkten Trgerplatte
mit beidseitig aufgebrachten, galvanisch veredelten und vergoldeten Schleifbahnen. Die Kontakte der Kontaktteile bestehen aus Hartsilber.
bako-slipring assemblies of type LP 60 are suitable for transmission of digital
signals with 2- and 4-wire data-BUS-systems, Interbus-S-systems, serial interfaces
(e.g. RS 485), computer-supported PLC-controls, etc.
The sliprings of the LP 60 consist of a glassfibre-reinforced support plate with
galvanized and gold-plated slip paths that are attached on both sides.
The contacts of the contact parts are made of hard silver.

Hinweis:
Aufgrund unserer Erfahrung im Einsatz von Datenbertragungs-Systemen empfehlen wir, ausschlielich trommelbare Leitungen mit paarig abgeschirmten und
verseilten Adern zu verwenden.
Note:
Due to our experiences with the application of data-transmission systems we
recommend to only use reelable cables with cores that are matched in pairs and
twisted.

How to determine the motor cable reel-type
Es gibt zwei Mglichkeiten, die bentigte Leitungstrommel zu bestimmen. Die
Einfachste besteht darin, den Fragebogen am Ende dieser Broschre vollstndig
auszufllen und an STEMMANN-TECHNIK zu verschicken. Die Auswahl der
Leitungstrommel wird dann mit Hilfe dieser Daten direkt im Werk durchgefhrt.
Bei der zweiten Mglichkeit knnen Sie die bentigte Leitungstrommel selbst
bestimmen. Der Vorteil dabei ist, dass Sie nach Ermittlung der Gesamtbezeichnung der Leitungstrommel deren Abmessungen direkt aus den entsprechenden
Tabellen und Zeichnungen ablesen knnen. Dadurch kann sofort festgestellt werden, ob die Leitungstrommel aufgrund der Abmessungen fr den speziellen Einsatzort geeignet ist.
There two possibilities to determine the required cable reel. The easiest way is to
completely fill in the questionnaire at the end of this brochure and to send to
STEMMANN-TECHNIK. The selection of the cable reel then is effected directly
in the manufacturer's works.
With the second possibility you are able to determine the required cable reel
yourself. The advantage of this is that you can read the dimensions of the cable
reel directly out of the corresponding tables and drawings after you have determined the complete cable reel-designation. By this it can be immediately verified
if the cable reel is suitable for the special application with regard to the dimensions.
Falls Sie sich fr die zweite Mglichkeit entscheiden, gehen Sie zur Bestimmung
der bentigten Leitungstrommel folgendermaen vor:

Die Gre der Motorleitungstrommel wird ber verschiedene Faktoren bestimmt,
wie z. B. die aufzutrommelnde Leitung, die Wickellnge, die Fahrgeschwindigkeit
des Verbrauchers, usw.
The size of the motor cable reel is determined by means of different factors, e.g.
the cable to be reeled, the winding length, the travel speed of the movable
machine, etc.
Die Auslegung der auf den folgenden Seiten dargestellten Motorleitungstrommeln basiert auf die Einhaltung der nachfolgend aufgefhrten Kriterien.
Hinweis:
Falls einige dieser Punkte von den tatschlich vorliegenden Bedingungen vor Ort
abweichen, empfehlen wir, sich zwecks Rcksprache mit unseren Projektierern

Wichtigster Bestandteil der Motorleitungstrommel ist die Leitung, die man fr den
Betrieb des entsprechenden Verbrauchers verwendet.
Die bestimmten Daten der Leitung - Anzahl der Adern, Auendurchmesser und
Gewicht der Leitung - bestimmen die Motorleitungstrommel, die fr den entsprechenden Einsatz bentigt wird.
Wir gehen in dieser Broschre davon aus, dass unsere Kunden die bentigte Leitung bereits haben oder aber wissen, welche Leitung bentigt wird. Auf der folgenden Seite stellen wir Ihnen eine Auswahl von Leitungen zur Verfgung, die wir
hufig einsetzen. Fr den Fall, dass unsere Kunden eine in dieser Tabelle nicht
aufgefhrte Leitung verwenden, fhrt die Tabelle auf der darauffolgenden Seite
zu der entsprechenden Auswahlseite fr Leitungstrommeln. Hierzu bentigt man
lediglich den Auendurchmesser und das Leitungsgewicht der entsprechenden Leitung (setzen Sie sich bei Unklarheiten ggf. mit dem Leitungshersteller in
Verbindung).
Beide Tabellen fhren ber die Spalte Nhere Angaben auf Seite zu der entsprechenden Seite dieser Broschre, auf der die fr Sie geeignete Trommeltype nher beschrieben wird.
The most important part of the motor cable reel is the cable that is used for operating the corresponding movable machine.
The definite data of the cable - number of cores, outer diameter and weight of
the cable - determine the motor cable reel that is needed for the corresponding
use.
In this brochure we proceed from the fact that our customers already own the
required cable or else already know which cable is needed. On the following
page we mention a selection of cables that we oftenly use. In case that our
customers use a cable that is not mentioned in this table, the table on the following page leads to the corresponding selection page for cable reels. For this you

der Trommel Mindestbiegeradien der einzelnen Leitungen eingehalten werden.
Der Mindestbiegeradius (R) fr die einzelne Leitung ergibt sich aus dem Produkt
eines Faktors mit dem Aussendurchmesser (d) der Leitung. Bei Grenzsituationen
empfehlen wir, den Leitungshersteller zu konsultieren. Die folgende Tabelle soll
einen berblick ber verschiedene Kabelfhrungs-Situationen und dem damit
verbundenen Faktor zur Bestimmung des Mindestbiegeradiusses geben.

Cable clamp with chain shackle
Die Leitungsschelle dient als Zugentlastung am Einspeisepunkt. Sie besteht aus
zwei Halbschalen, die um die Leitung gelegt und anschlieend miteinander verschraubt werden. Kette und Schkel fixieren die Leitungsschelle im Festpunkt und
verhindern damit, dass Zugkrfte auf den Anschlusskasten wirken.
The cable clamp serves as tension relief at the feeding point. It consists of two
shells that will be laid around the cable and then will be bolted together. Chain
and shackle lock the cable clamp in the fix-point and by that avoid that tensile
forces are acting on the terminal box.

Accessories for motor cable reels
Leitungshaltestrmpfe werden bei Trommeln mit Endeinspeisung und bei Hubtrommeln eingesetzt. Sie dienen der leitungsschonenden Befestigung der Leitung
und deren Zugentlastung.
Leitungshaltestrmpfe sind erhltlich mit 1 oder 2 Kauschen. Standardmig sind
die Leitungshaltestrmpfe verzinkt, auf Anfrage auch in nichtrostenden Stahl lieferbar.
Cable holding sleeves are used for reels with end feeding and for hoist reels.
They serve for cable-sparing attachment of the cable and its tension relief.
Cable holding sleeves are available with 1 or 2 thimbles. The standard version
of the cable holding sleeves is galvanized, but can also be delivered in steel version upon customer's requests.

Bei Verwendung einer zustzlichen Zugentlastungstrommel wird der Leitungszug
beim berfahren des Speisepunktes auf den gesamten Durchmesser der Zugentlastungstrommel verteilt. Dieses ist fr die Standzeit der Leitung ein groer Vorteil,
weil die Leitung ohne Zugentlastungstrommel nur durch eine Leitungsschelle gehalten wird.
If an additional tension relief reel is used the cable tension, when passing the
feeding point, is distributed on the complete diameter of the tension relief reel.
This is a very big advantage for the service life of the cable, because without the
tension relief reel the cable is only held by a cable clamp.
