Unser Unternehmen befindet sich in Hamburg-
Altona, am Anfang der Elbchaussee. Seit
mehr als 70 Jahren fertigen und verkaufen wir
Armaturen für Schiffbau und Industrie. Die
Qualität unserer Erzeugnisse, die Entwicklung
von Sonderkonstruktionen, Flexibilität, kurze
Lieferzeiten und umfangreiche Serviceleistun-
gen haben unser Haus bekannt gemacht. Zu
unseren Kunden zählen nahezu alle namhaf-
ten deutschen und internationalen Werften
ebenso wie Industrieunternehmen aus vielen
verschiedenen Branchen.
Dabei fing alles einmal klein an. Getreu dem
Motto: „Besser ein kleiner Herr als ein großer
Knecht“ gründete Fritz Barthel am 1.April 1932
sein Unternehmen. Die langjährige Erfahrung
des Ingenieurs im Schiffbau und sein reger
Erfindergeist ermöglichten rasch eine hohe
individuelle Anpassung an den spezifischen
Bedarf der Hamburger und norddeutschen
Werften. Kurze Zeit später erschlossen die
ersten Aufträge aus der Industrie ein weiteres
Betätigungsfeld.
Heute beschäftigt unser Familienbetrieb rund
80 Mitarbeiter. Unter modernsten Bedingungen
fertigen wir für Sie aus vielen Werkstoffen
nach Ihren oder unseren Zeichnungen die
passenden Armaturen. Unser umfassendes
Lieferprogramm ist in der Regel ab Lager
sofort für Sie verfügbar.

Our company is based in Hamburg-Altona,
at the start of the Elbchaussee. For more
than 70 years we have been manufacturing
and selling fittings for shipbuilding and
industry. The quality of our products, our
development of special designs, our flexibility,
short delivery times and extensive services
have made our company well known.
In addition to almost all major German and
international shipyards, our customers include
companies from a wide range of industries.
It all started on a small scale. True to the
motto: “Better a small master than a big
servant”, Fritz Barthel founded his company
on 1 April 1932. The engineer’s many years
experience in shipbuilding and his inventive
ingenuity soon led to a high degree of indi-
vidual adaptation to the specific needs of
shipyards in Hamburg and Northern Germany.
And it was not long before the first orders
from the industrial sector marked the begin-
ning of activities in another field.
Today our family business has around
80 employees. Working under thoroughly
modern conditions, we use a variety of
materials to manufacture the fittings you
need in accordance with your drawings or
our own. As a rule our comprehensive
supply programme is available immediately
from stock.

Traditionell fühlen wir uns dem Schiff- und
Werftbau ganz besonders eng verbunden.
Obwohl gerade diese Branche im Laufe der
Jahrzehnte einem deutlichen Strukturwandel
unterzogen war, ist sie heute noch einer der
wichtigsten Partner für uns.
Wir versorgen Werften und Zulieferfirmen
mit Armaturen wie Ventilen, Schiebern,
Klappen, Hähnen, Verschraubungen und
Zubehör nach nationalen und internationalen

We traditionally have close ties with the ship-
building and shipyard construction industries.
Although this sector in particular has under-
gone major structural changes over the years,
it is still one of our most important partners.
We supply shipyards and their subcontractors
with stop valves, slide valves, flap valves, plug
valves, screwed joints and accessories in a
variety of versions in accordance with national
and international standards, e.g. DIN, ISO,
VG, ANSI, JIS. The fittings we produce are
used as original equipment on container
vessels, high-speed ferries, ultra-modern
yachts, in the offshore sector and in naval
hochmodernen Yachten, im Offshore-Bereich
und Marineschiffbau zum Einsatz und decken
den Ersatzteilbedarf bei Neubauten, Umbau-
ten und Reparaturen.
Ergänzt und erweitert wurde unserere
Produktpalette nach dem Krieg durch den
Bedarf rasch wachsender Industrieanlagen
in Deutschland. Mit Herstellung und Vertrieb
von Armaturen und Sonderarmaturen für
Unternehmen aus den Bereichen Anlagen-
bau, Chemie, Energie-Erzeugung und -Ver-
sorgung, Wassertechnik und -Aufbereitung,
Dampferzeugung, Hydraulik, Probenahme
und Maschinenbau sind wir für Sie stets ein

is quick and easy to get to the consumer.
Industry and shipbuilding have been exploit-
ing this property since the steam engine was
invented.
Steam can be used to heat or even cool a

Seit mehr als 50 Jahren bauen wir Drossel-
geräte ( Wirkdruckgeber) nach spezifizierten
Anforderungen und Vorgaben unserer
Kunden aus Energie-, Chemie- und Verfahrens-
technik.
Wir fertigen Drosselgeräte nach dem
Differenz-Druckverfahren ISO 5197 in den
unterschiedlichsten Ausführungen:
• Norm- und Steckblenden
• Messflansche und -strecken
• ISO 1932-Düsen
• Venturirohre und -düsen
• Staurohre

• Abgleichgefäße
Unsere Geräte sind für Gase, Dämpfe,
aggressive und nicht-aggressive Fluids ohne
Druck- und Temperaturbegrenzung einsetzbar.
Die Auswertung der Mess-Signale erfolgt
über Differenzdruck-Messumformer, die nicht
im Lieferumfang enthalten sind.
Wir liefern in verschiedenen Werkstoffen,
zum Einbau zwischen Flansche oder zum Ein-
schweißen.

For over 50 years we have been making
throttle devices (differential pressure trans-
ducers) in accordance with detailed specifica-
tions from our customers in the energy,
chemicals and process technology sectors.
We produce a wide variety of throttle devices
using the ISO 5197 differential pressure
method:
• Standard orifice plates and blanking disks
• Measuring flanges and metering pipes
• ISO 1932 nozzles
• Venturi tubes and nozzles
• Pitot tubes
• Stop valves
• Balance vessels
Our devices can be used for gases, vapours,
aggressive and non-aggressive fluids without
pressure and temperature restrictions. Evalua-
tion of the signals is by means of differential-
pressure measuring transducers, which are
not supplied with the device.
We supply these devices in various materials,
for installation between flanges or welded in
place.
 PROBENAHME-SYSTEME
Probenahme wie sie sein soll
Zur Optimierung verfahrenstechnischer
Prozesse, Steuerung und Kontrolle chemischer
Reaktionen, Prüfung der Qualität von Einsatz-
stoffen, Zwischen- und Endprodukten werden
Proben benötigt. Probenahmesysteme müssen
den gefahrlosen Eingriff in geschlossene
Prozesse sowie die totraumfreie repräsentative
Entnahme ermöglichen.
Wir liefern Probenahmelösungen für Fest-
stoffe, Flüssigkeiten, Gase, Schmelzen oder
Suspensionen für Temperaturen bis 550°C
und Druckbereiche bis 325 bar. Unsere
Probenahmesysteme finden Verwendung in
der chemischen- und petrochemischen Indu-
strie, der Pharmatechnologie und im Schiffbau.
Wir verwenden zum Fertigen unserer Probe-
nahmesysteme neben Edelstahl Hastelloy,
Zirkonium, Tantal, Keramik, Titan, emaillierten
Stahl u.a.

SAMPLING SYSTEMS
The efficient way to take specimens
Specimens are needed for optimizing produc-
tion processes, controlling and monitoring
chemical reactions, and checking the quality
of input materials, intermediate and end
products. Sampling systems have to permit
safe removal from closed processes and
ensure that representative specimens are
taken without headspace.
We supply sampling solutions for solids,
liquids, gases, melts and suspensions for
temperatures of up to 550°C and pressures
of up to 325 bar. Our sampling systems are
used in the chemical and petrochemical
industries, the pharmaceutical sector, and
shipbuilding. The materials we use to make
our sampling systems include not only
stainless steel, but also hastelloy, zirconium,
tantalum, ceramics, titanium, enamelled
steel etc.

Qualität muss sein
Traditionell legen wir Wert auf höchste
Qualität und größtmögliche Sicherheit unserer
Erzeugnisse. Daher haben wir 1996 das
QM-Sicherungssystem ISO 9001 eingeführt
und im Jahr 2001 um die DGRL (Modul H)
umfassend erweitert. Unsere Schweißzu-
lassung wurde nach DGRL erteilt.
Hinzu kommen Richtlinienbestätigungen
nach KTA 1401, QSP 3a für kerntechnische
Anlagen und die Zulassung als Schweißfach-
betrieb nach EN 729.2, zusätzlich arbeiten wir
in Normenausschüssen und Berufsgenossen-
schaften.
Nahezu täglich werden in unserem Hause
Armaturen durch Abnahmegesellschaften wie:
Germanischer Lloyd, Lloyd’s Register EMEA,
Bureau Veritas, Det Norske Veritas, Güteprüf-
dienst des BwB, RINA, ABS, und TÜV abge-
nommen. Unser QM-System wird in regel-
mäßigen Abständen neu auditiert.
Quality is a must
We traditionally attach great importance to
the utmost quality and safety in our products.
That is why we introduced the ISO 9001
quality management assurance system in
1996, and considerably extended it in 2001
to take in DGRL (module H). Our welding
licence was granted in accordance with DGRL.
We also have certification under KTA 1401,
QSP 3a for nuclear installations and approval
as a specialist welding operation in accordance
with EN 729.2, and we play an active part
in various standardization committees and
occupational injury insurance funds.
Hardly a day goes by without fittings being
approved on our premises by inspection
organizations such as Germanischer Lloyd,
Lloyd’s Register EMEA, Bureau Veritas,
Det Norske Veritas, BwB quality testing service,
RINA, ABS and TÜV. Our quality management
system undergoes fresh audits at regular
intervals.
