Nationales Vorwort
Die Europische Norm EN ISO 4618 fllt in den Zustndigkeitsbereich des Technischen Komitees
CEN/TC 139 Lacke und Anstrichstoffe (Sekretariat: DIN, Deutschland). Sie wurde im Rahmen der Wiener
Vereinbarung unter Federfhrung der Arbeitsgruppe CEN/TC 139/WG 4 Terminologie (Sekretariat: DIN,
Deutschland) in Zusammenarbeit mit ISO/TC 35/SC 1 Terminology (Sekretariat: NEN, Niederlande)
ausgearbeitet. Die Deutsche Norm DIN EN ISO 4618 fllt in den Zustndigkeitsbereich des NA 002-00-01 AA
Begriffe.

Der dritte Absatz im Abschnitt 1 Anwendungsbereich der englischen und franzsischen Fassung gilt nur fr
die ISO-Norm. Fr die Europische Norm und damit auch fr die vorliegende DIN-EN-ISO-Norm gelten jedoch
alle drei Sprachfassungen als offizielle Fassungen.

NA.1 Beschichtungsstoff

Die Benennungen Beschichtungsstoff, Anstrichstoff und Lack werden zum Teil noch alternativ verwendet.

Ein Beschichtungsstoff kann nach unterschiedlichen Kriterien nher gekennzeichnet werden (siehe Bild NA.1).

NA.2 Beschichtung
Definition siehe 2.49.

Die Benennungen Beschichtung, Anstrich und Lackierung werden zum Teil noch alternativ verwendet.

Eine Beschichtung kann nach unterschiedlichen Kriterien nher gekennzeichnet werden (siehe Bild NA.2).

NA.3 Lack
Lack ist eine historisch gewachsene Bezeichnung fr eine Vielzahl von Beschichtungsstoffen und
Beschichtungen.

Lacke sind durch guten Verlauf und bestimmte Glanzeigenschaften gekennzeichnet.

Je nach Art der organischen Bindemittel knnen Lacke organische Lsemittel und/oder Wasser enthalten.
Meistens enthalten sie Pigmente, Fllstoffe und weitere Zustze. Pulverlacke sind lsemittelfrei.

NA.4 Anstrichstoff
Anstrichstoff ist eine historisch gewachsene Bezeichnung fr eine Vielzahl von Beschichtungsstoffen,
abgeleitet vom Verarbeitungsverfahren streichen.

NA.5 Farbe
Definition siehe 2.57.

Farbe ist durch Buntton, Sttigung und Helligkeit gekennzeichnet (siehe DIN 5033-1, Farbmessung
Grundbegriffe der Farbmetrik).

Fr Beschichtungsstoffe und Beschichtungen sollte das Wort Farbe im Sprachgebrauch nur noch fr
zusammengesetzte Begriffe gebraucht werden wie z. B. Dispersionsfarbe, Leimfarbe, Schiffsfarbe,
Straenmarkierungsfarbe.

1 Scope
This International Standard de-
fines terms used in the field of
coating materials (paints, varn-
ishes and raw materials for paints
and varnishes).
Terms relating to specific applica-
tions and properties are dealt with
in standards concerning those
applications and properties, e.g.
corrosion protection, coating pow-
ders.
In addition to terms in English and
French (two of the three official
ISO languages), this International
Standard gives the equivalent
terms in German; these are pub-
lished under the responsibility of
the member body for Germany
(DIN). However, only the terms
and definitions given in the official
languages can be considered as
ISO terms and definitions.
NOTE Those terms that are defined
elsewhere in the standard are shown
in bold type.
