1. Aktualisierung der Teilelisten (Kit-Sätze).
2. Zur besseren Nachverfolgung der Änderungen werden geänderte Kit-Sätze mit Index „/A“ ge-
kennzeichnet.
3. Aktualisierung der Referenzliste
Mitteilungsgrund
Die Auslassventile der Zylinderköpfe mit der Materialnummer X51604100024 sind bei hoher
Motorauslastung nicht ausreichend temperaturbeständig und können ab einer Laufzeit von ca.
3.000h wegen thermischer Überlastung durchbrennen.
Als Abhilfe müssen an den in der Referenzliste aufgeführten Motoren alle Zylinderköpfe eines Mo-
tors einmalig beim Erreichen von 3.000 Zylinderkopf-Betriebsstunden, gegen die neue Material-
nummer X51604100040 ersetzt werden.
Zeitplan
Die in der Referenzliste aufgeführten Motoren müssen zusammen mit der nächsten Ser-
vicearbeit oder der nächsten planmäßigen Wartung umgerüstet werden.
Gültigkeit der Maßnahme: bis spätestens 12.2016.

Der jeweils gültige Betriebsanleitung/Ersatzteilkatalog/Werkstatthandbuch und Werkzeugka-
talog.
Demontage / Montage
Alle Zylinderkopfe eines Motors gegen die neue Materialnummer Pos.1 ersetzen.
Durchführung der notwendigen Arbeiten nur durch autorisiertes Fachpersonal unter Beach-
tung der einschlägigen Sicherheitsvorkehrungen.
Zeitbedarf
Der Zeitaufwand ist abhängig vom Montageaufwand und beträgt:
1) ca. 24 Std. für die 8V Motoren
Kostenerstattung
Durch Einreichen eines Antrages im jeweiligen Garantiesystem können die angefallenen Kosten
bei MTU geltend gemacht werden.
Im Garantiesystem sind die verwendeten Teile als M-Kit abzurechnen. Einzelauflistungen sind
nicht zulässig.

weise zur Rücklieferung mit MTU-F zu klären.

Reason for information

At high load engine profiles, the exhaust valves on cylinder heads with material number
X51604100024 are not sufficiently temperature-resistant. As a result, they may burn out due to
thermal overload when reaching 3,000 hrs runtime or more.
As a one-time corrective measure, all cylinder heads on engines appearing in the reference list
must be replaced with material number X51604100040 before they reach 3,000 operating hours.
Time schedule
The engines appearing in the reference list must be converted in conjunction with the next
service or the next scheduled maintenance work.
Action is valid until: 12.2016 at the latest.

Removal / Installation
Replace all cylinder heads on an engine with the new material number (Pos.1).
The operations involved must be carried out by authorized, specialist personnel in compliance
with all relevant safety regulations and precautions.
Time required
Labor time depends on the amount of work involved:
1) approx. 24 hrs for 8V engines
Recovery of costs
Costs incurred may be recovered from MTU by submitting a claim via the appropriate warranty
system.
The parts used must be listed as an M-kit in the warranty system. Individually itemized lists are not
permissible.
